Sound Medicine & Sound Healing during Pregnancy. - What you need to know!

(German version below)

Sound Medicine and Sound Healing Sessions are definitely an effortless and fun way to get into a deeper state of full body and mind relaxation and to be able to reconnect with ourselves. But does this also apply for a pregnant woman?

And the answer is YES! During pregnancy Sound Healing with Crystal Singing Bowls or other Sound Medicine instruments can definitely help to release stress and provide a tool for relaxation. When the mother is going into a state of relaxation so the baby will do.

This is a kind of entrainment that’s happening everywhere not only with Sound but also between two human beings. Mother and baby have a special connection so the relaxation response will be as effective for Mother as for baby.

Did you know that the hearing sense is the first to develop? It develops after the first 16 weeks of pregnancy!

It has shown that the babies of mothers who came to sound meditations regularly during pregnancy, will relax instantly when hearing the familiar sounds of crystal bowls, chimes or other high vibrational instruments that have been used!

Of course we need to take some precautions!

For example it is NOT recommended to play binaural beats when having a pregnant woman in your Sound Meditation session! Also they should not be played to a new born as it might trigger seizures! Seek a qualifies Sound Healing Practitioner who can guide you and help you out if you feel insecure or have questions in general! The most important thing is that everyone feels safe because otherwise it will be hard to relax!

The work with sound is so beautiful and effective but it’s also necessary to educate yourself sufficiently before conducting sessions in Sound Healing Trainings

That’s why I always recommend certified courses with credential teachers besides the personality and energy of that person!

A teacher or mentor should withhold both of these qualities for the students to have the maximum learning effect!

Here are some things who should consider:

Sound healing can be a soothing and relaxing practice during pregnancy, but it's essential to take some precautions to ensure the safety and comfort of both the mother and the baby:

  1. Choose the Right Sounds: Opt for gentle, calming and harmonious sounds such as nature sounds, soft music, or specifically designed sound healing tracks for pregnancy. Avoid loud or jarring sounds that may cause stress.

  2. Volume Control: Keep the volume at a moderate level to prevent it from being too intense for the sensitive ears of the developing fetus.

  3. Avoid Prolonged Exposure: While occasional sessions of sound healing are generally considered safe during pregnancy, avoid prolonged exposure to sound therapy sessions, especially those involving loud or continuous sounds. It is also important to notice if you have been to sound healings before your pregnancy and your body is used to the sounds and the experience it’s more likely to be a nice experience for the fetus/baby too. If you have never been exposed to a Sound Healing Session before your pregnancy it is not recommended for the first 12 weeks. After that you can try gentle sounds.

  4. Consult Your Healthcare Provider: It's always a good idea to consult with your healthcare provider before starting any new therapy during pregnancy, including sound healing. They can provide personalized advice based on your medical history and individual circumstances.

  5. Comfortable Positioning: Ensure that the pregnant woman is comfortable during the sound healing session. She should be able to lie down or sit in a position that supports her body and allows her to relax fully.

  6. Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water before and after the session to stay hydrated, as hydration is crucial during pregnancy.

  7. Listen to Your Body: Pay attention to how you feel during and after the sound healing session. If you experience any discomfort or unusual sensations, stop the session and consult with your healthcare provider.

  8. Use Reputable Sources: If using sound healing tracks or recordings, ensure they are from reputable sources and specifically designed for pregnancy or relaxation.

By taking these precautions, you can safely enjoy the benefits of sound healing during pregnancy. However, it's essential to remember that individual experiences may vary, so always prioritize your comfort and well-being.

Klangmedizin & Sound Healing in der Schwangerschaft. - Was man wissen sollte!
